9-04: Another thing I just recently completed is the tub work including the inside carpeting. I used .06" thick 6061 aluminum then covered the top with a fairly thick noise barrier, followed by foam padding and then the carpet seen in the pic below. I also completed the rear firewall using 16 gage steel, then it was also covered with noise barrier material, then covered in vinyl. Also included in the rear fire wall was the completion of the roll cage. The forward bars go through the forward firewall and are welded to the frame in the engine compartment. |
11-04: The digital gauges are pretty much finished. I just need to tidy up the dash area a bit. |
12-8-04 Finally got a stereo installed, but I still need speakers. |
1-1-05: Beleive it or not this really isnt as messed up as it looks. All the wiring is now done for remote: Hood, Doors, & power windows. I made a little video to show all the remote goodies in action. click here |
2-20-05 - I've put alot of the dash back together and have even started some carpet work |
5-13-05 - I'm re-doing my sidepipes so that I can drive over an ant without bottoming out. These new header look alot better anyway. So this is a good thing. I also just pulled the slicks off the car and have now installed 31x16.5x15 Mickey thompson treaded tires. Its getting closer to a street machine :) |
5-27-05 - Sidepipes are now complete and from here on out its nothing but interior. |
6-19-05 - I didn't like the blue stereo so I purchase a really nice CD player with a changable background. Now the red panel matches all the gauges. I also added a kicker. |
7-3-05 - These are on the way and should start assembly next week. Creating Vacuum with a high horsepower BBC isn't to easy so these will work alot better than the stock pop-up headlights. |
7-23-05 They are here. I didn't realize that the entire frontend has to come off the car to mount these, but it's ok theres a few cosmetic things I've wanted to fix in that area anyway. Should have everything back together by the end of the weekend. Ive got 1 side together, it's taking alot more fab than I had thought. |
8/13/05 Headlights are in and working. Next is the new flame paint job, and get it ready for cruise at lews. |
9/05 I had a real bad experience with the last paint job, so I had to strip the car all the way back to fiberglass, however I have bought the new primer (not rattlecan) and am getting ready to start over. |
10/15/05.....prep work is finished. The primer will be shot tonight. I turn my garage into a paint booth, and hired a painter to paint the car. |
10/16/05 The first step is complete. It will be wet sandand and the first coat will be applied next weekend. Were gonna start with all black then after the black cures, we'll start the flame work. |
10/30/05 It's completely wetsanded and ready for paint. |
11/27/05 I put the car in storage as I wait for the painter to call me. |
3/2/06 - All the body work is complete and they are going to shoot 1 last primer, 1 more wet sand and then then final paint. It's getting really close. What wasn't mentioned above was that a garbage bin was rolled into the car and hit the urethane front nose and did some damage to the body work so they had to fix that. |
3/13/06 - It's next in line for the final paint. |
 3/23/06 - Finally....something to look at. |
3/31/06 - It looks kinda dull because they have been buffing out the final paint with 2000 grit. |
4/3/06 - It's done. I'm bringing it home tommorow to put all the lights in it and then off to the portland swapmeet. 4/7/06 - 4/9/06 |
4/4/06 - I brought it home and have started the reassembly. |
5/1/06 - This is pretty much the end of the car for me. Now thats its painted i cant really work on it do to my tight constrictions in my garage. The car most likely will not change any more from this point on |
